In March 2020, New Zealand went into a nationwide lockdown in response to the growing threat from Covid-19. Society contracted into individual bubbles; a temporary new norm based upon epidemiological projections that influenced political will. The level of adherence was high. Each bubble became a link in the conduit towards an eventual return to a new normality. As a photographer, I was keen to capture this pivotal and historic period of time. In keeping with Lockdown Level-4 and 3 rules, all these images were taken in my neighbourhood, with minimal equipment and in under 10 minutes.
